West Leederville Primary School students have brightened up a local park with their artistic talents.

Working with artist Haylee Fieldes, the Years 5 and 6 students created a captivating mural at Cowden Park.

The Town of Cambridge project gave students the chance to make their mark and express themselves creatively in their neighbourhood.

The colourful nature themed mural features various animals and plants.

West Leederville Primary School principal Kirsten Dicker said it was fantastic for the students to be involved in a project in their local community.

“Given the physical limitations of our school site, Cowden Park is a much loved and utilised space for West Leederville Primary School students,” she said.

“We are grateful to the Town of Cambridge for engaging with our students and giving them a voice in reimagining the space.

“The opportunity to work alongside Haylee Fieldes on the art project is one that our students will remember for years to come.”

Town of Cambridge Mayor Gary Mack said it was great to see the mural finished.

“The completion of this project and the vibrant mural is a testament to our commitment to creating spaces that reflect the spirit and creativity of our local students,” he said.
