Our free live chats and information sessions have been developed for preservice, graduate and experienced teachers wanting to learn more about teaching in a public school.

Events are now being held in-person and online allowing you to participate from a location that suits you, including on the go via mobile devices.

Teacher Flying Squad- Live chat

Our Flying Squad teachers fill short term vacancies that are generally for periods of between four and ten weeks in a range of our rural, regional and remote schools with differing needs.

Join our live online chat to learn more about how teachers in the Flying Squad receive free accommodation and free travel to and from the location of any appointment.

Remote Connection Program-  Live chat

The Remote Connection Program offers committed teachers and school leaders the opportunity to spend a week working and living in a remote community.  It’s a great way to find out if a career in a remote school is for you. Our live chat will take you through how to apply and give you the opportunity to talk with our team and ask questions about the program.

Leap program information session

Our Leap program gives both new and existing teachers opportunities to gain further qualifications to teach in additional specialist areas or move into a new area of teaching.

Through Department-funded training and support, you will be able to expand your teaching skills and knowledge, positioning yourself to take advantage of the exciting opportunities in our schools.

Entry and Orientation program

The Entry and Orientation program is a two day program designed to support teachers commencing with the Department of Education WA after returning from long leave, interstate or overseas positions.

Participants will develop an understanding of current best practice in Western Australian public schools.
