With more than 30 years’ experience in public schools, Lisa’s leadership has been acknowledged through a personal nomination for the Australian Council for Educational Leaders Excellence in Educational Leadership Award, and finalist for the WA Primary Principal of the Year (2012 and 2015) and Women of Achievement Award (2011). Her schools have also been finalists in the WA Premier’s Excellence in Aboriginal Education Award (2015) and WA Literacy School of the Year (2010).
Lisa creates a culture of empowerment and high care where staff are challenged and supported to cater for all students. As principal of Baynton West Primary School, she has forged partnerships with universities and local organisations to provide additional support for students in Karratha.
Lisa recently led the school community through the Independent Public School review, where reviewers noted that dispersed leadership throughout the school was driving a climate of teamwork and innovation.
Lisa has produced an environment where outstanding leadership is demonstrated by teacher leaders and there is a willingness of all staff to be collegiate and collaborative.
