Lis believes in embracing the skills of 21st century learning to prepare students to be lifelong learners in an increasingly connected world.

Essential to achieving these goals, she understands the need to cater for students’ cultural, linguistic, geographic and economic diversity. She promotes a public education system that values diversity, and she strives to build a highly effective workforce and provide equity for all.

Lis supported the Waggrakine Primary School community through the rebuild of the school after a fire in 2013 and has led the development of strategies to enhance the performance of Midwest schools in her role as network principal.

Lis has established partnerships to promote Asia Literacy including securing grants and forming relationships with sister schools in Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

In 2015, Lis spent two months volunteering in Vanuatu as a leadership advisor with the Vanuatu Institute of Teacher Education.

Lis was WA Primary Principal of the Year in 2011.
