As principal of Manjimup Senior High School for the past 14 years, Kerry has led the school to achieve excellent results for students.

She harnesses the skills of staff to improve student outcomes and identifies priorities to get results. She deploys resources strategically to progress the quality of teaching, and uses evidence-based reflection and planning to set expectations.

Student engagement is a school priority and Kerry fosters this through explicit policy, student support structures, high quality teaching and a school culture that focuses on relationships and respect.

Kerry uses a 360 degree and leadership survey to reflect on her own leadership and constantly improve her skills. She undertakes professional learning, facilitates training and takes on different roles at local and system levels.

Kerry was a finalist in the WA Principal of the Year in 2006. In 2009 Manjimup Senior High School was reviewed by the External Review Group as an exemplary school and in 2015 the school won WA Secondary School of the Year.
