Alen is an effective communicator, mentor and motivator who is driven to lead improvement in all educational situations within complex school environments. He has developed and refined the skills required to build, lead and inspire a multifaceted professional learning community. Alen is also passionate about engaging and working with his community to benefit his students.
Identifying the fact that the unique learning environment at Safety Bay Senior High School required a tailored approach to teaching, Alen investigated the impacts of high impact teaching on students with varied backgrounds. This investigation has resulted in data showing improvements in performance and engagement across the targeted student body.
For his change management project, Alen explored the topic, The Fellowship: What Has Been the Return on Investment? The purpose of this project was to investigate the impact of the ‘Fellowship Program’ on leadership at an individual, school, network and system level. A range of perspectives on the efficacy of the program and system level data was analysed, to identify what is working well and areas of focus for the future.
