Access free seminars for parents that give simple, practical strategies to help you raise a happy and confident child.

As a parent or carer of children or teens, you can access free seminars on a range of topics. Each seminar is packed with ideas for giving your child the best start in life.
The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program gives you ideas and strategies to help your child develop the skills and behaviours they need for a healthy childhood.

The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program allows you to choose from face-to-face seminars, online webinar sessions, or self-paced online courses.
Face-to-face seminars
Free face-to-face seminars are held in schools, Child and Parent Centres and community venues across Western Australia.
Learn proven strategies from trained facilitators to:
- raise happy, confident children
- manage misbehaviour so everyone in the family enjoys life
- set rules and routines that everyone respects
- encourage positive behaviour
- take care of yourself as a parent.
Choose ‘Find a session’ to register for a course, time and venue that suits you on the Triple P Parenting in Western Australia website.
You can also talk to your school about how they can host a free Triple P seminar for your community.
Online webinar sessions
You can attend our free online workshops from the comfort of your home. These sessions are run by Department of Education school psychologists.
You must register to attend. You will receive an email with a link to join the workshop, as well as a reminder before the workshop. For the best experience with the online workshop, download the Webex app.
Online self-paced courses
You can register for free self-paced online courses on the Triple P website.
Teen Triple P Online is a paid program. However, if you have a child at a public school, you can apply for a code to access the program for free. Ask staff at your school for the code.
Triple P Online for Baby
If your child is less than a year old, check out Triple P Online for Baby. This is a self-paced course to help you:
- understand what you can do to promote your baby’s development
- build a stronger bond
- support their emotional and physical health.
Developing Mealtime Routines (toddlers)
Mealtimes with a toddler can be busy and chaotic while they are learning how to eat independently. This workshop gives some strategies to help you encourage your toddler to eat with a spoon, sit at a table with others and eat a variety of foods.

Helping Children Develop Healthy Screentime Habits (toddlers)
Toddlers develop best when their day is filled with a mix of physical activity, creativity and imaginative play, time with others and time to rest. Digital devices like phones, tablets, games and TV are part of everyday family life in most homes and can be part of a healthy lifestyle. This workshop gives suggestions to help you establish healthy screen time routines.

Developing Bedtime Routines for Toddlers
This session explores different problems parents face at bedtime and some of the reasons why they happen. We will discuss what children need to get into a good bedtime routine and introduce strategies to encourage children to stay in their own bed as well as how to use using gentle, gradual and direct approaches.

Positive parenting series (up to 12 years of age)
The following 4 seminars are part of a positive parenting series. You can choose to do as many of them as you like.
- The Power of Positive Parenting. This seminar helps you understand the reasons kids do what they do, so you can guide their behaviour. This seminar will discuss how to create a safe, interesting and positive learning environment. It will also cover how to use assertive discipline and care for yourself as a parent.

- Raising Confident, Competent Children. You can help your child become confident and successful at school and beyond. Find out ways to encourage them to be respectful and considerate, communicate and get on well with others, feel good about themselves and become independent problem solvers.

- Raising Resilient Children. Get the strategies that will allow your child to recognise positive and negative emotions and deal with them in a healthy way.
- Helping Children Develop Healthy Screentime Habits. This seminar helps you understand how screen time problems develop. It gives simple, positive strategies to encourage healthy habits, manage conflict, and keep kids safe online.

The following 3 seminars are part of the Triple P Teen series. You can attend as many of the seminars as you like.
- Raising Responsible Teenagers. You’ll come away with new ideas to encourage your teenager to make good decisions, be respectful, considerate, reliable and involved in family life.
- Raising Competent Teenagers. Find out how to help your teen communicate well, develop self-discipline and good routines, follow rules and solve problems.
- Getting Teenagers Connected. Help your teenager develop good, supportive friendships. You’ll learn ways to build their confidence, encourage their social skills, help them to plan and meet commitments and encourage them to take care of others.

Making and Keeping Friends (10 to 16 years of age)
Peer relationships become very important during the teenage years, and parents may find it difficult to adjust to these changes in relationships. This session will provide suggestions on how to support your child to make friends, encourage positive relationships with peers, set boundaries and deal with challenges.

The following 3 seminars are part of the Stepping Stones Triple P series. This series is for parents of children who are neurodivergent, have a developmental disability or have additional needs. You can attend as many of the seminars as you like.

- Changing Problem Behaviour into Positive Behaviour.

Fear-Less: Supporting Children with Anxiety (6 to 14 years of age)
Everyone feels anxious at times, even children and teenagers. But anxiety may cause distress and get in the way of life. This seminar will help parents to understand how anxiety works, how to manage your child’s anxiety effectively and teach your child new coping skills.
