Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation Sector Strengthening Grant Program

Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation Sector Strengthening Grant Program

We’re developing a grant program to support Aboriginal community-controlled organisations (ACCOs) to deliver services to students in Western Australian public schools.

The grant program will:

  • engage, build and strengthen relationships with ACCOs
  • increase the number and type of services ACCOs provide to students in public schools in Western Australia.
Why are we doing this work together?

Because we know strong ACCOs mean strong communities. This process is about working together from the ground up to ensure these grants reflect what’s needed, not what’s assumed.

Phase 1 consultations
What have we done so far?

Through our first phase of consultations undertaken in partnership with CASWA, we connected with ACCOs across Western Australia to build relationships and learn more about their needs and priorities in the education sector.

Consultations were held in each of the education regions, including Pilbara, Kimberley, Midwest, Goldfields, Wheatbelt, South West, South Metropolitan and North Metropolitan.

Phase 1 consultation workshops are now complete.

Next steps

We will continue working with education-focused ACCOs to support the design of the program.

Details about Phase 2 stakeholder engagement sessions will be available soon.
