Two new public schools opened their doors to students for the first time on day one of this term.
Wungong Primary School
Wungong Primary School, located in the suburb of Hilbert, and Sunrise Primary School in Wellard were first announced in 2023 in response to their rapidly growing local communities.
The two new southern suburbs schools feature state-of-the-art facilities, such as:
- shaded play spaces for Kindergarten and Pre-primary students
- two-storey teaching blocks
- inclusive education classrooms
- specialised science and art classrooms
- library resource centres.
Each of the new schools has been built with an initial capacity for 540 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. They add to the 800-plus public schools already in service across Western Australia.
