Applications, testing and offers
These steps outline the process for your child to take part in a Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Entrance program.

Apply for the Gifted and Talented program
- Submit the online application form and choose your child’s program preferences
- If required, find support for children with a disability, chronic illness or impairment
- If required, follow the process for overseas and interstate applicants and applicants on a temporary visa.

Complete the required testing
All students must sit the Academic Selective Entrance Test (ASET) to be considered for our programs.

Students applying for arts programs must also complete an audition or workshop. Some students may also be required to attend an interview. Learn more about Arts program selection.
Students applying for languages programs may also be required to participate in an interview. Find out about the languages interview.

Receive the ASET Performance Report
After your child has completed the ASET, you will receive their performance report. This report explains your child’s results and how they are used.

Receive an offer of placement
You may receive an offer of placement into a Gifted and Talented program. Offers are sent in rounds and depend on program availability and demand.
