Applications for the 2026 intake are now open.
All applications must be lodged online. Applications are open for the intake of children in Years 7, 9, 10 and 11 in 2026. There is no intake for children in Years 8 and 12.
When you apply, you (the parent or carer) acknowledge that you have read and accepted the:
- Applicant guidelines – Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Entrance programs for entry to Years 7, 9, 10 and 11 in 2026
- key dates.
Choose preferences
Your child’s online application must include a maximum of 3 preferences for Gifted and Talented programs from the options:
- academic
- arts
- languages.
Preferences can be a mixture of program areas (for example, academic and arts) or only one (for example, academic).
Carefully consider your choice of preferences on the online application as these will determine the testing we invite your child to attend. Your child will only be considered for programs they have completed testing for.
While all programs are available for Year 7 entry, some programs may not be available for entry to Years 9, 10 and 11 due to available vacancies. Further information regarding:

Adding preferences to your child's Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Entrance application
After lodging your child’s online application, you can still change their preferences by emailing gtsu@education.wa.edu.au or calling the GTSU team on (08) 9264 4307.
