The challenge helps Western Australian school students discover the joy of generosity and raise funds for Telethon.
The 2025 challenge ran from Friday 9 May to Friday 19 September.
The challenge was open to every school in WA to raise funds for sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children across the state.
The top fundraisers across 3 categories were eligible to win a range of exciting prizes including a behind-the-scenes experience at the Telethon weekend on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October 2025 at RAC Arena.

Kids helping kids storytelling competition
The Kids helping kids storytelling competition gave students the chance to reflect on the Premier’s Telethon Challenge and the impact of charitable giving.
The competition is now closed.
Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 were encouraged to address the question:
- How are you and your school shaping a better and brighter future through fundraising for WA kids?
They could explore the subject using any written or static visual medium, including short stories, posters, photography and more.
The competition’s age categories were:
- Lower primary – Kindergarten to Year 2
- Upper primary – Year 3 to 6
- Lower secondary – Year 7 to 10
- Upper secondary – Year 11 and 12.
The winner from each age category will have their works published in The West Australian newspaper and be recognised at the presentation event.
The judging rubric is linked to General Capabilities and can be adopted in a range of learning areas.
