Nominations are now open for the WA Education Awards 2025, with two new categories set to bring excitement among school communities.
The annual WA Education Awards highlight the exceptional achievements of public schools and teachers, celebrating the important way they positively shape the lives of young people.
There are two new categories this year, Minister’s Teacher of the Year and Excellence in early childhood education, bringing the total number of awards to eight.
Minister’s Teacher of the Year recognises exemplary teachers across early childhood, primary, secondary and education support settings who demonstrate outstanding professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
Excellence in early childhood education acknowledges settings where play-based, child-centred approaches and innovative teaching strategies create holistic learning environments, advancing children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
The eight categories are:
- Minister’s Teacher of the Year
- Excellence in school leadership
- Excellence in teaching and learning - primary
- Excellence in teaching and learning - secondary
- Excellence in cultural responsiveness
- Excellence in disability and inclusion
- Excellence in wellbeing and learning
- Excellence in early childhood education
Finalist schools and teachers will also be recognised for their exceptional achievements, dedication, and innovation.
Nominations close Friday 5 September.
