Wellbeing, inclusion and safety resources
You can use these resources to support your child's wellbeing and additional needs.
Health and wellbeing
- School Entry Health Assessment - Home educated students can access a free health assessment through their local community health nursing service.
- If you are in Metropolitan Perth, you can book an assessment by emailing CACHExecutivecorrespondence@health.wa.gov.au.
- If you are in Regional WA, assessments are provided by WA Community Health. To book an appointment, contact your regional community health services.
- Provide your child's name and a contact phone number when requesting an assessment.
- Better Health Program – The Better Health Program is designed for primary school aged children and their families to establish healthy eating and physical activity habits.
- Kids Helpline – Access free and confidential counselling and mental health support for young people.
- Medical and dental services – Home educated students can access school medical and dental services provided by the Department of Health.
- School dental service – Home educated children may be eligible for free dental care through the School Dental Service.
- Support services for children and young people – Find services, resources and helplines to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.
Disability and additional needs
- Kiind: Navigate the world of disability – Information and support for families of children with disability or developmental delay.
- National Disability Insurance Scheme – Information about the NDIS, including planning, accessing supports and managing funded services.
