Patricia Levitske Gray has been recognised as a finalist for the 2026 Women of Achievement Award for her leadership and collaborative impact as a Deaf Education Officer across Shenton College and the Shenton College Deaf Education Centre.

Patricia, also known as Patti, has also worked extensively work within the Auslan program, supported by Hands on Learning Australia (HOLA) and co-teachers to deliver both ATAR and VET pathways to students.

Patricia Levitske Gray has been recognised as a finalist for the 2026 Women of Achievement Award.

Her achievements are underpinned by her experience as a Deaf person and her global experience as a deaf interpreter. 

Her collaborative approach has strengthened inclusive curriculum delivery and student outcomes across cohorts. 

“This recognition of my achievements makes me feel that my work and my contribution is valued.  

“I want to note though, that I am part of an excellent Languages and Arts Learning Area team, where teacher collaboration is paramount to ensuring student success, through creating cultures of learning and practising inclusion. 

“We are all leaders in different ways, and I feel so grateful to be recognised for my work, my skills, and my contributions to the Auslan program at Shenton. It’s also an honour to be considered a role model for future female leaders, both deaf and hearing.” 

Patricia acknowledges her strong female colleagues and the 2 school principals, who have been incredible supporters in empowering leaders at Shenton College and Shenton College Deaf Education Centre. 

Patricia believes education is key for deaf children to be able to stand up for their rights and have the potential to be future leaders in their community. 

“I really appreciate the nomination for the 2026 Women of Achievement Award, and the spotlight being shone on Auslan and inclusion as a result of being a finalist.” 

The Director General’s Women of Achievement Award winner will be announced at the International Women’s Day breakfast on Thursday 5 March, where attendees will hear from special guest Liz Ellis.
