STEM professional experiences
We provide pre-service teachers with funding when completing their professional experience in secondary science, technologies, and mathematics (STEM).
Pre-service STEM teachers completing their professional experience can receive $250 per week in the metropolitan area and up to $700 per week in some regional areas.
In addition to financial subsidies, participants have access to our induction program and ongoing support.
Funding is only available to those who are completing their final or penultimate professional experience (usually during their third or fourth year of a Bachelor of Education, or first or second year of a Master of Teaching).
Funding will vary based on the education region in which you undertake your professional experience.
Education region | Funding amount (per week) | |
---|---|---|
Final professional experience rate | Penultimate professional experience rate | |
Goldfields, Kimberley and Pilbara | $700 | $350 |
Midwest | $700 | $350 |
Wheatbelt | $700 | $350 |
Southwest | $500 | $250 |
Metropolitan | $250 | Not applicable |
