Our purpose is clear: every student, every classroom, every day.
The Western Australian public school system is a major contributor to the state’s prosperity and growth as a fair society promoting the wellbeing and participation of all its citizens. More importantly through its key focus on inclusion, equity and excellence, public schools foster wellbeing and participation of all of its students.
'Every student, every classroom, every day', our new strategic directions for public schools 2020-2024 sets clear aspirations for every student and focuses on improvement drivers across 6 pillars to strengthen support for teaching and learning.
Building on strength: future directions for the Western Australian public school system is our long term vision for education over the coming decade. This statement explains the thinking and rationale behind the commitments made in our 2020–2024 strategic directions.
It maintains the momentum for improvement and the spirit of Classroom First by taking further action to strengthen support for teaching and learning excellence. This statement re-affirms the need for students and teachers to be at the centre of our efforts over coming years.
Focus 2023 is the opportunity to reset our efforts on our priorities for every student, every classroom, every day. All students need access to a quality education within their environment and with the right supports they need to progress and achieve. 2023 provides an opportunity to refocus on what we know is vital to the future of our students.
We know that for our students to truly maximise the quality teaching that happens in our classrooms, our other priorities need to focus on creating safe and secure learning environments, and providing a range of differentiated and specialist supports for those students who need it.
