COVID-19

School is open for learning.

COVID-19

Schools will be open for students from the start of Term 1 on Monday 31 January 2022.

We are committed to ensuring schools remain safe for students, staff and families in 2022.

Our Safe Return to School Plan follows the current public health advice to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 in our schools and our communities.

We are committed to delivering quality teaching to children across WA throughout COVID-19 disruptions.

The Department of Education will monitor, adapt and respond to the current public health advice of the Western Australia’s Chief Health Officer.

Western Australian public schools are prepared with COVID-19 safe measures including:

  • mandatory vaccination and third dose requirements for all school staff
  • proof of vaccination for regular visitors to school sites in line with public health advice
  • enhanced hygiene and other health and safety measures
  • ventilation strategy, including air purifiers and CO2 monitors
  • being ready to adapt and respond based on health advice
  • continuity of teaching and learning.

We also work with Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) and the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia (AISWA) to respond to WA Department of Health advice and provide information to schools and staff.
