Upgrades boost learning spaces

Significant upgrades at three WA public schools are finished providing modern, purpose-built learning spaces.

Students at Harrisdale Primary School, Kalamunda Senior High School and the Kalamunda Secondary Education Support Centre are benefiting from modern facilities that support learning, accessibility and future growth.

At Harrisdale Primary School, a $25 million expansion increased capacity to 900 students, providing room for an additional 470.  

The new facilities include: 

  • a kindergarten and pre-primary teaching block with outdoor play spaces  
  • a two-storey teaching block with 14 classrooms 
  • a dedicated science room 
  • upgraded activity areas 
  • hardcourts 
  • additional parking. 

Valuable outdoor space has also been opened up, that will be used by students for both learning and play. 

Kalamunda Senior High School and Kalamunda Secondary Education Support Centre have received a major upgrade, with $38 million delivering modern learning environments designed for enrolment growth and specialist support needs.

Upgrades include: 

  • a multistorey classroom block with eight general learning areas 
  • purpose-built specialist spaces for Kalamunda Secondary Education Support Centre, including six classrooms and supporting facilities 
  • a new visual arts building with four studios and a gallery space to showcase student creativity. 

These works have increased capacity at Kalamunda, creating space for an additional 200 students.
