Students at Duncraig Senior High School are now enjoying their new science and English blocks.
The $43 million upgrades, that also included creatively transformed collaboration spaces, are providing students and teachers with a suite of modern and vibrant facilities that align with university and industry standards.
Designed by With Architecture Studio and constructed by PS Structures, the new classroom blocks are connected by a covered bridge, and terraced seating provides opportunities for outdoor learning.
The upgrade includes 12 new science labs and preparation areas, 17 English classrooms and an outdoor environment that promotes staff and student wellbeing.
The new two-story classroom blocks are connected by a covered bridge that protects students from the elements as they move between classes. Terraced seats also encourage teachers and students to enjoy outdoor learning opportunities.
The old science block has also been converted into labs for science, technology, engineering, maths and information technology. The previous language classrooms are now fit-for-purpose visual arts studios, while state-of-the-art study spaces for staff have replaced the old maths area.
