“The day was the culmination of our Bald in Broome fundraising efforts,” Ms Arnott said.
“The turnout and support from staff and students was amazing. Everyone came together to support us and this incredible cause.”
Student involvement adding to the significance of the day. For example, Kingsley donated $50 for the opportunity to shave Ms Arnott’s head.
Another student, Grady Kneebone, also braved the shave, donating his long locks to be made into wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment.
“All we did was shave our heads, and our hair will grow back,” Ms Wang said.
“But so many people are affected by cancer every single day. This money goes directly towards research and helps in the fight against breast cancer.”
The Bald in Broome campaign has already beaten its fundraising target of $10,000, raising $11,457.
