Instrumental Music School Services parent information evenings

Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) holds parent information evenings for parents and carers of students starting instrumental music lessons in 2027.

These sessions provide an introduction to the IMSS program, what families can expect as their child begins lessons, and ways parents and carers can support their child's musical development. Parents and carers will also have the opportunity to meet instrumental music teachers, learn more about the instruments and programs available, and ask questions.

Parent information evenings will be held at locations across metropolitan and regional Western Australia during Term 4.

Attendance is free, however registration is essential as venue capacities are limited. Families may attend any session that suits them and are not required to attend the venue closest to their home.

Registrations open Monday 2 November 2026 at 8 am and remain open until the commencement of each session, subject to venue capacity.

Before you register

Session duration

Most metropolitan Parent Information Evenings commence at 7.30 pm. Regional session start times vary and are listed in the tables below.
All sessions run for approximately one hour.

Choosing a session

All parent information evenings include information about concert band instruments this includes clarinet, flute, percussion and brass (trumpet, trombone and euphonium/baritone) and classical guitar. Some venues also provide information about orchestral strings and contemporary guitar. Please check the instrument information listed for each venue before registering.

Event registration and attendance

Attendance is free, however registration is essential as venue capacities are limited. Please do not attend without registering.

Students are welcome to attend with their parent or carer, although the sessions are primarily designed for parents and carers. Other family members are also welcome; however, families are encouraged to reserve only the number of places required so that as many parents and carers as possible have the opportunity to attend.

Please have your booking confirmation available on arrival.

If you cannot attend

These sessions are available for in-person attendance only and are not currently offered online.

A copy of the presentation will be made available on this page following the completion of the Parent Information Evenings.
