Nominations open for WA Education Awards 2026

Nominations are now open for this year's WA Education Awards, offering the opportunity to highlight the exceptional achievements of public schools and teachers.
The 2025 WA Education Award winners.
The annual awards celebrate excellence across eight categories, shining a light on the important way school staff positively shape the lives of young people.
The award categories are:
- Minister’s Teacher of the Year
- Excellence in school leadership
- Excellence in teaching and learning - primary
- Excellence in teaching and learning - secondary
- Excellence in cultural responsiveness
- Excellence in disability and inclusion
- Excellence in wellbeing and learning
- Excellence in early childhood education
Finalist schools and teachers will be recognised for their exceptional achievements, dedication and innovation.
Last year's Minister's Teacher of the Year award winner Chris Lambe from Grandis Primary School acknowledged the incredible work happening in classrooms all across WA.
"As long as those teachers are in those classrooms, we have got a bright future for those kids,” he said.
“Those kids they teach you more than anyone else.
"It's a privilege to know there are chalkies out there doing a really good job and are making a huge impact on our world."
Nominations are due by close of business on Wednesday 29 July.
Award winners will be announced at a presentation event in November.
