The Department influences the education of all students in Western Australia. We are responsible for the provision of public education and have a role in supporting the education of all students in Western Australia. 

Aspirations for All sets the direction for public education and provides the foundation for a new strategic plan to be released in 2026. It outlines the major challenges and opportunities facing our system and the principles that will guide our response.

Every student, every classroom, every day, sets our current strategic priorities for public schools in 2020-2024 (extended to 2025). It focuses on improvement drivers across 6 pillars to strengthen support for teaching and learning.

Building on strength: future directions for the Western Australian public school system explains the thinking and rationale behind the commitments made in these strategic directions.

Focus 2025 communicates the Director General’s expectations of schools in 2025 and provides a commitment to school staff about the support provided to deliver these expectations.
