WA’s full-time Kindergarten pilot for public schools will expand in 2027, with five additional schools set to offer families the option of free, full-time Kindergarten.
Comet Bay Primary School is one of the five schools joining the pilot.
Bambara Primary School (Padbury), Comet Bay Primary School (Secret Harbour), Clifton Park Primary School, One Arm Point Remote Community School (Dampier Peninsula) and Peg's Creek Primary School (Karratha) will join the pilot from the start of the 2027 school year, giving more children access to five days of teacher-led, play-based learning.
The pilot is designed to support children's learning, development and wellbeing through high-quality, play-based early childhood education.
Each classroom is led by a teacher and supported by two education assistants, creating rich learning environments that help children build confidence, develop social skills and establish strong foundations for future learning.
Participation in the program remains optional, allowing families to choose the number of days that best meets the needs of their child.
The pilot was introduced this year at Banksia Grove Primary School, Dalyellup Primary School, Halidon Primary School (Kingsley), Roleystone Community College and South Kalgoorlie Primary School, where families have embraced the opportunity for children to attend Kindergarten full time.
