Affordable and healthy lunches on more school menus

Public schools will benefit from a $10 million investment to improve school canteens and expand access to healthy and affordable lunches for students.
The Supporting School Canteens Program aims to build the capacity of WA public school canteens by offering funding for canteen equipment purchases and facility upgrades.
The program aims to create healthy school environments by providing students with access to balanced, nutritious and affordable meals that support their wellbeing and learning.
Funding will be delivered to schools until 2028.
Round 1 applications are now open and close 8 May 2026. Information about future funding rounds will be available later in the year.
Principals at public schools can apply for funding of up to $250,000 through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
Eligibility guidelines and application information will be provided to school principals.
