The School Breakfast Program has been expanded to meet the nutritional needs of more students, more often.
More than 680 WA schools will now be eligible to access free breakfasts for students, five days a week.
Under the expanded School Breakfast Program, eligible public and non-government schools will be provided with food and funding for supervision to enable the program to be delivered.
East Maddington Primary School is among the schools successfully running the program already, and hosted a special event to kick start the program’s expansion.
The program is designed to offer a healthy and nutritious breakfast, giving more students the best possible start to their school day.
The School Breakfast Program, delivered by Foodbank, has been providing nutritious breakfasts for students since 2001.
Eligible schools and education sites can now register through Foodbank's existing registration process in Term 4 to start in 2026.
Principals at schools eligible for supervision funding to support delivery of a 5-day breakfast program have been contacted.
