One very talented West Australian public primary school student has been recognised alongside some of the best names in television for an iconic award.

Picton Primary School student Eloise Hart, 10, swapped the classroom for the lights and cameras of the television world and has earned herself a nomination in this year’s iconic Logie Awards. 

The proud Noongar student, who is currently in Year 5, is up for Most Popular New Talent for her work in Goolagong and Mystery Road: Origin.

Eloise portrayed the young legendary Australian athlete Evonne Goolagong Cawley in the ABC's three-part drama Goolagong, bringing the story of the tennis champion to life.

Living in Glen Iris, just north of Bunbury in WA’s South West region, Eloise said she was proud of her achievement.

“It feels good to act with and represent my culture on TV. I am a proud Noongar girl,” she said.

Eloise inspired her peers to follow their passions.

“They should follow what they are good at because they will have a nice bright future when they are older,” she said.

Reflecting on her acting success, Eloise said she enjoys travelling and meeting new people.

“I get to travel a lot and it’s very exciting to go to new places I have never been to before,” she said.

“I get to go on the red carpet and everyone will be screaming my name out.

“There will be cameras and it will all be so cool. The red carpet is an amazing thing to walk on because it’s just so cool to walk on something that is very famous and very exciting.

“Some actors that I worked with will also be at the Logies as they have been nominated too.”

There are six nominees for the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent:

  • Lila McGuire, Goolagong (ABC)
  • Rowan Witt, Ghosts Australia (Paramount+)
  • Stuart Broad, The Ashes 2025-26 (Seven Network)
  • Tamala, Ghosts Australia (Paramount+)

The 2026 Logie Awards will take place on Sunday 16 August in Sydney.

Voting remains open for most categories until Saturday 15 August and can be done through the official Logie website.
