A Perth primary school has raised thousands of dollars to support the World’s Greatest Shave.

Bicton Primary School students from Pre-primary to Year 6 shaved their heads for the cause.

Bicton Primary School students took part in the World's Greatest Shave.

The efforts resulted in more than $15,000 being raised, placing Bicton Primary School in first place for WA public schools on the World’s Greatest Shave school leader board.

The World’s Greatest Shave helps fund life-changing blood cancer research and support.

Bicton Primary School principal Alison Forzatti said the school turns 120 years old in 2024 and had committed to completing 120 acts of kindness to give back to the community.

“By participating in initiatives like this we come together as a school community to support a common cause,” she said.

“The undercover area was abuzz with excitement and generosity as we came together on Friday morning to colour, cut, or shave our hair for charity.

“I am both proud and humbled by the incredible generosity displayed by our students and community during this event.

“I would like to thank everyone involved in making this event happen, from the students, families and staff involved, in particular to Megan for coordinating.

“My thanks go out to our dedicated staff for their support throughout this initiative and most importantly, to every student who got behind this cause, you are stars, in particular those who cut or shaved their hair.”

Another act of kindness in the community for the school’s 120-year celebrations included cleaning the foreshore at Bicton Baths.
