Our students
At Albany Residential College we value every member of the college equally.
While each student’s journey is individual and special, we provide a safe, supportive, engaging and caring ‘home away from home'. This approach allows your child to flourish, be challenged academically, expand their interests and grow through wholehearted involvement at the college.
We have capacity for 106 boarders at Albany Residential College. Many of our students are from surrounding country towns in the Great Southern and Wheatbelt regions. We also have several students who come from as far as Wiluna and Fitzroy Crossing.
We have a student leadership program where your child can develop their leadership and teamwork skills. The student leadership team is made up of head students and a student representative council (SRC).
The Student Council are selected late in the year to take up the role for the following year. Students are selected by their peers and endorsed by our supervisors and college manager. They are students that demonstrate positive behaviour as role models for their peers and accept the responsibility of presenting and advocating ideas on their behalf.
The role of the Student Council is to help maintain a positive college atmosphere of mutual respect, promote boarder participation in college life, seek guidance from college staff and discuss boarder concerns, as well as establish links within the community via volunteer work.
