Animals can enrich students’ learning experiences, however schools must adhere to consistent and high quality practices for the care and use of animals. On 6 February 2024 the Enrolment Framework for Students with a Visa in Public Schools was updated. A new enrolment process for overseas students will come into effect on Monday 19 February 2024.

The principal or college manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a public school or residential facility, including providing for the safety and welfare of students, staff and visitors on the site.

The Department of Education recognises and supports the diverse needs of all students. This policy is to establish school processes to identify, provide for, monitor and report on students who may be at educational risk.

This procedure provides information for employees in relation to their obligations and responsibilities with respect to intellectual property.

Schools and residential facilities need to have appropriate security measures in place to protect school property and ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and students. A variety of approaches are needed for implementation of effective security.
