The Department of Education is committed to the prevention of corruption at all levels of staff across the Department, maintaining and promoting high ethical standards and practices. These guidelines are to be read in conjunction with the Staff Conduct and Discipline Policy and Code of Conduct, and provide information on how to define and report corrupt behaviour.

These procedures apply to all principals and college managers. They support the Visitors and Dignitaries at Public Schools and Residential Facilities policy.

The Employee Performance policy and procedures are directed at building a high performance, high care culture across the Department through a focus on improvement. The procedures specify, for all groups of employees, a procedurally fair approach that balances development requirements with accountability, in accordance with the role being performed.

This policy provides procedures for the recruitment, selection and appointment of teaching staff, school administrators and staff other than teachers and school administrators.
