This policy and procedures outlines for all employees of the Department of Education to follow when travelling on a trip authorised by the Department.

The Curriculum Assessment and Reporting in Public Schools Policy and Procedures set out the requirements that schools need to meet in planning their curriculum, assessment and reporting practices. The Policy and Procedures are aligned to the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline.

These procedures apply to all principals and college managers. They support the Visitors and Dignitaries at Public Schools and Residential Facilities policy.

The policy provides an operational framework to raise employees’ and line managers’ knowledge and understanding of entitlements and responsibilities related to leave eligibility, application and approval processes. It ensures that employees and line managers are informed about, leave procedures and leave management strategies under relevant Awards and Agreements.

This framework provides information for employees in relation to their obligations and responsibilities with respect to procurement and contract management.

The School Education Act 1999 requires all enrolled student to attend school or participate in an educational program of the school. Principals are required to record and monitor student attendance and develop appropriate strategies to restore attendance for students with persistent absence.
