A new $45.5 million primary school in the fast-growing northern suburb of Alkimos is another step closer, with construction now underway.

The school, not yet officially named, is scheduled to open for the 2027 school year, providing much-needed enrolment relief for Shorehaven Primary School and Alkimos Beach Primary School.

It will be built by commercial contractor Crothers Pty Ltd, with architectural design by T&Z Architects.

Once complete, the school will accommodate 540 students, from Kindergarten to Year 6, and feature modern, purpose-built facilities including:

  • administration, kindergarten and pre-primary block
  • library and staff areas
  • covered assembly space
  • two double-storey teaching blocks
  • hardcourts, oval, and landscaped outdoor areas
  • on-site parking.

The new school adds to the growing network of modern education facilities in Perth’s northern corridor, helping meet the needs of families in rapidly expanding communities. It follows the recent completion of several major school projects in the area, including Eglinton Beach Primary School, which opened in 2025.
