Department of Education projects and programs need to have appropriate monitoring and evaluation activity. Evaluations, reviews, pilots or trials are distinct from systematic ongoing monitoring and reporting and require special reporting activity. The Program Governance Group considers the Department’s activity in these areas on a regular basis.

These guidelines provide a reference point for when a school is hosting dignitaries, planning official functions and events, and occasions when a school is hosting a visit by the Minister for Education.

The Department is a signatory to a number of statutory and voluntary licences, which aim to ensure fair returns to owners of copyright, and set out guidelines for the use of ‘works’ and ‘subject matter other than works’ in schools.

These guidelines provide information for policy authors on external stakeholder consultation in the development or review of Department of Education policy and supporting procedures.
