The Department of Education (The Department) implements security measures to create a safe environment for staff, students, parents, volunteers and visitors, and to protect school and residential facility property.

The Department of Education (The Department) implements security measures to create a safe environment for staff, students, parents, volunteers and visitors, and to protect school and residential facility property.
Principals and college managers must implement security measures in accordance with the Security for Public Schools and Residential Facilities Procedures.
The Department’s Security and Emergency Management Section provides support, advice and consultancy to principals and college managers or their nominees on security-related issues.
Principals and college managers are responsible for implementation of the policy.
Line managers are responsible for compliance monitoring.
This policy applies to principals and college managers.
