School grounds and services

School grounds and services

Our school grounds and services staff help keep our facilities functioning at their best! You can find these roles in a variety of school settings and also in our agricultural and residential colleges.

Cleaners

Our cleaners maintain the hygiene standards of our school and office buildings. During school vacations, cleaning staff work together to prepare classrooms and school buildings for the next term. Cleaner-in-charge roles organise and supervise cleaning staff, and help maintain supplies. Cleaning roles in schools depend on the size of the school.

Gardeners

Gardeners maintain school grounds, including caring for landscaping, facilities and equipment. As a gardener, you might do some minor repairs and maintenance for gardening equipment or complete some handyperson tasks as a part of your role.

Kitchen, canteen and laundry staff

Join us as a chef, cook, kitchen hand, laundry hand or canteen staff member.

Chefs, cooks and kitchen hands maintain a high standard of quality control and food hygiene in college or school kitchens. Chefs and cooks supervise other kitchen staff and manage daily catering requirements. Kitchen hands help with catering and ensure kitchens and pantries are clean and organised.

Laundry hands complete laundering tasks and maintain the laundry area and equipment.

Career opportunities and progression

There are many professional roles central to the daily operation of the school.

When you are appointed to one of our roles, we will provide you with training relevant to your role.
