Ray has 30 years experience in the public education system, including 18 years as an educational leader. In 2014, Ray was named WA Primary Principal of the Year.
He is dedicated to improving educational outcomes for students who are fortunate enough to attend West Beechboro Primary School.
Promoting professional growth through instructional rounds and individual teacher coaching, Ray built a professional and highly motivated team, who together, have realised student achievement to record levels at the school.
Ray has a clear vision for his school and targets professional learning where it matters most— on curriculum and assessment. He leads by example, committed to enhancing education opportunities for all students.
Accordingly, Ray implemented a two-tiered leadership structure entrusting leaders with the responsibility for consistent curriculum implementation.
In his change project, Ray investigated strategic thinking in our schools within the concept of ‘Deep Work’.
