CEO Instruction Ceasing - Entry Restrictions to an Education Facility COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements

1. Introduction
1.1 The Chief Health Officer of Western Australia (CHO) issued, under section 4 of the Public Health Act 2016:
(a) the ‘Education Worker (Restrictions on Access) Directions’ (Education Directions); and
(b) the ‘Booster Vaccination (Restrictions on Access) Directions’ (Booster Directions).
Collectively the (Restriction Directions).
1.2 The Restriction Directions restricted an Education Worker (including Ancillary Workers) from entering or remaining in an Education Facility, which includes a school (including Statewide Services, 33 Giles Avenue, Padbury), boarding premises, or community kindergarten, unless the Education Worker had been vaccinated in accordance with the Restriction Directions.
1.3 On 7 June 2022, the CHO issued the ‘Restrictions on Access (Revocation) Directions’ to take effect at 12:01 am on 10 June 2022 (Revocation Directions).
2. Instruction
2.1 The Director General of Education has authority, pursuant to Section 233 of the School Education Act 1999 (Act), to issue Instructions to persons performing functions in the Department.
2.2 The Director General issued CEO Instructions to operationalise the Restriction Directions at Education Facilities under the control of the Department (COVID- 19 Instructions).
2.3 This Instruction (CEO Instruction) gives effect to the Restriction Directions for the Education Facilities under the control of the Department. The obligations upon Department employees from COVID-19 Instructions have been and are applicable until 12:01 am 10 June 2022 after which time the obligations cease.
