The Western Australian Public School Principals’ Fellowship Program further extends the capabilities of school leaders in public education.
The program involves an extensive body of learning, mentoring and development. It includes two intensive Harvard University Graduate School of Education courses, one delivered in Boston, Massachusetts and one online. Principals participate in executive mentoring and active engagement in an area of system improvement.
The program is open to all school principals in public education.
On completion of the program, principals become fellows and form a pool of well-credentialed and highly skilled principals. They can be called on to be involved in specific reform activities, act as mentors to other principals and contribute to leadership development programs. This investment in school leadership is vital to delivering high quality teaching and enhancing student learning.
Forty principals have already been selected to participate in the program. The group of principals invited to join the program in 2016 are now fellows, while another 20 principals are currently in the program which will be completed in 2018.
