Education Assistants and Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers

More support for students who need it the most.

From 2018, selected schools will be able to better support students who need it the most with the Government announcing additional funding to appoint education assistants and Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers.

A total of 238 primary and district high schools with the most socially disadvantaged students will receive funding to appoint additional education assistants to support student learning in Kindergarten to Year 2.

A total of 74 regional and remote schools, along with four regional residential colleges, will receive funding to appoint additional Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers to support Aboriginal students.
