Hammond Park Secondary College is a modern school that opened in 2020, offering students state-of-the-art facilities including general classrooms, science labs, a performing arts centre, a library, and a gym. In 2023, it expanded to include more dynamic learning areas and specialist sporting facilities, including a fitness centre, football oval and hard courts.

Life at Hammond Park Secondary College

Hammond Park Secondary College has a modern and dynamic learning environment that encourages students to engage fully in all aspects of college life. With a diverse range of programs across the arts, technologies, health and physical education, students are empowered to explore their passions, develop new skills and achieve their full potential.

The college’s specialist music academy fosters creativity through performance and collaboration. For students in Years 9 and 10, the Ignite and Thrive program promotes classroom success while building confidence and self-esteem, supporting their personal and academic development during these important years.

For students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the specialised autism learning program (SALP) provides tailored support that embraces neurodiversity, helping students to thrive in their learning and fully participate in school life.

Hammond Park Secondary College is also home to the future-based inquiry and innovation (FBII) program, which challenges students academically while developing their leadership skills and preparing them for future success.

Students can participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities. Clubs run before and after school, giving every student the chance to explore their interests. Options include fitness, robotics, and art, as well as additional tutoring opportunities through the maths, science, and HASS study clubs.

Support for students

The college offers a dedicated support network for students, including a comprehensive wellbeing team with a psychologist, chaplain, and other specialists. Student well-being is a top priority, with every student receiving the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Each student is assigned a homeroom, which they attend four days a week. The homeroom teachers monitor well-being, academic progress and attendance while working closely with the wellbeing team. For international students, homeroom fosters strong connections with both peers and teachers, creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
