School of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour and Engagement
Steve undertook a lead role in establishing the School of Special Educational Needs, which brought together the Vision Education Service and the WA Institute for Deaf Education to create a new statewide service.
He oversaw the amalgamation of 12 behaviour centres, as well as classroom management strategies and positive behaviour support teams into a single integrated service to support some of our most vulnerable students.
Steve is passionate about innovation in schools that seeks new ways to support students with diverse learning needs more effectively engage in education. He is committed to the creation of a positive, healthy and safe culture by engaging all staff in continuous personal growth and school-wide improvement.
Steve has built on his years as principal, undertaking system leadership roles.
Steve’s change project highlighted the contribution of network principals in rural regions to the WA Public School Leadership Strategy 2018-2021.
