Melanie feels fortunate to be surrounded by mentors who believe in the public education system and, who instilled in her, a sense of responsibility to contribute to public schooling and create the future we want for our students.
She has been a network leader in literacy, digital technologies and 21st century learning design.
Granted a full scholarship by the Department to complete her Masters of School Leadership at UWA, Melanie also won the WA Primary Principals’ Association School Leader Innovation Award in 2015.
Melanie is passionate about educating country kids, as she firmly believes all students have the right to a world-class education, no matter where they live. At Northampton District High, she is working to make this is a reality.
In her change project, Melanie researched regional networks and how network funding is used.
