Wongan Hills District High School (DHS) is seeking a reflective, dedicated and motivated English teacher who is also able to teach in the Arts subjects of Media and/or Dramas a minor subject to complement our highly effective team of educators.

Furthermore, the applicant will embrace cross cultural relationships to enhance outcomes for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and students with a language background other than English. They will pursue excellence in classroom teaching and provide encouragement and support to their colleagues. A commitment to continual improvement through data driven curriculum and pedagogy decision making processes is essential.
Wongan Hills DHS is situated 170 kms north-east of Perth. The school caters for a range of students from Kindergarten to Year 12. We have a strong commitment to offering best practise educational programs that support students in achieving their potential and beyond. A significant achievement of Wongan Hills DHS is being recognised for Exemplary Practice in Early Childhood Education by the Department of Education’s Expert Review Group. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
