Kalgoorlie Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Digital Technologies Teacher to join their school for the 2019 school year. Suitable applicants may also be considered for teaching Middle and Upper Primary classes in a Bring Your Own Device environment.

Kalgoorlie PS is a Teacher Development School in STEM and Digital Technologies, is very well resourced with PCs, iPads, robotic devices, 3D printers, VR goggles and interactive screens and has led the way in the purposeful use of technology across learning areas and year groups for several years. The successful applicant will deliver the Digital Technologies curriculum to students from P to 6. The role includes the opportunity to support colleagues in utilising technologies across the school.
Ideally, suitable applicants will have experience with integrating technology, particularly iPads, into the classroom as well as a thorough knowledge of the Digital Technologies curriculum. You will embrace the use of technology as a 21st century tool and possess particular skills in this area. Previous experience with running a Bring Your Own Device classroom or Digital Technologies specialist area is beneficial.
The Digital Technologies teacher will also run an Extension and Challenge program for upper primary students. Identified gifted and talented students are selected to participate in differentiated programs that provide academic extension through the application of creative and critical thinking skills.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
